Top MetroABQ Millennial Destination: Parkland Hills 87108

Top MetroABQ Millennial Destination: Parkland Hills 87108
by Chris Lucas

This info below is re-printed from an article by KRQE. I am always interested in where & why folks are moving to certain areas of the MetroABQ. Parkland Hills is a great place to move to: numerous pocket greenspaces & established parks, close to all the shopping & restaurants found in Nob Hill; the neighborhood is bounded by San Mateo & Carlisle Blvds on the east & west, & is very centrally located in the city. The housing stock is varied, from large 3000-5000sqft homes, to smaller two-bedroom one bath opportunity residences. The main image above is a Mid-Century Modern home listed in Parkland Hills that is for sale for $575,000. You can see the 3-D Walking Tour here: 600 Montclaire SE. Scroll down to the address... Read More

Spontaneous Yoga:

At the Downtown Growers Market at at Robinson Park, yoga can erupt spontaneously...as I'm enjoying a Saturday morning breakfast burrito from Food Karma (Eat Well, Do Good, below), folks gather & begin an hour-long yoga practice while I watch. Another reason to love the MetroABQ! Read More

Tasty Tuesdays at Hyder Park in the SE Heights

Tasty Tuesdays at Hyder Park in the SE Heights
by Chris Lucas

Tasty Tuesdays is fantastic! It's an evening summer gathering in Hyder Park--adjacent to Bandelier Elementary School--on Tuesdays of course, generally to eat dinner & listen to music on the grass in the shade of 75 year old trees. One Tasty Tuesday this month seemed to draw probably 750-1000 folks. There was a band, folks dancing in front & others playing frisbee, seven or eight food trucks & food stalls lining the packed roadway, a large group on the hill began in unison their hands to their chests in the Ashtanga Yoga class that began at 6p. Many families with children & other groups spread out across the north-western section of the park facing the musicians. It's a mid-week festival. The organizers of Tasty Tuesdays started in 2012 with one food truck & a dream...& it's grown immensely since. The park is over 4 acres, so plenty of room for all. Read More
