On the fast urban arterial of Menaul Blvd connecting Downtown with Uptown, & just east of the on-ramp bridges to The Big-I, there is a large shopping center with several parking acres in front, called American Square. In the middle of the square are creatures made of steel. They are worth a stop...
These sculptures--a dragon, turtle, buck, dancing horse, some other creature & a few more--are part of the shopping center experience & not part of the One Percent for the Arts program (Map) through the MetroABQ. Great place to enjoy the scene in the cool shade, in an otherwise intense heat island Uptown location.
