MetroABQs 1st Annual 508 Mural Fest Part III Other Murals

The 1st 508 Mural Fest produced some incredible wall art that will hopefully be around to gaze at for years…However, the nature of mural art is that it can be very ephemeraltemporary & then gone…Enjoy it while you can.

While searching for the 508 Mural Fest murals, we found many other murals, not necessarily associated with the festivalI appreciate that the coordinators didnt spell out EXACTLY where each mural lived: sometimes we had to search up and down blocks, deciding what was part of the festival, and what had simply already there.

Above is an example of a mural probably not part of 508 Mural Fest. It is part of a larger mural depicting an effigy of a fallen man. It sits behind the El Rey Theatre, Downtown MetroABQ.

Following the 508 Mural Fest Downtown locations Map, you might come across other Downtown murals not part of the festival. Below is a mural near Coal & 2nd St, & is called Botanical Mural Project, sponsored by 516 Arts & the iconic Sanitary Tortilla Factory Artist Studios. The Map of the 508 Mural Fest locations is below that…
